Things have been hectic! I have had a move in the last month so I’ve had less time to devote to my plants. Some have had some issues due to my circumstances, but thankfully, most of my plants are doing fine.

A wide shot of my top rung on my plant shelf. That’s a lot of Kanna!

You can see a little bit of everything in this image. My 40 cell grow tray in the foreground is my experimental/ miscellaneous zone. I have three or four sets of genetics intermingled in this tray. My oldest strain is even putting off some flowers!

Wager propagated kanna progress

The plant with the “H2O root Dec 30” tag is the one from my Rooting Kanna in Waterarticle. There’s a bit of growth, but not much. The roots have anchored it in the soil pretty well though, which was my main goal for that cutting.

Damiana progress

You can see my damiana plant in the large pot a little bit past my 40 cell container.

My damiana plant

Unfortunately, my damiana is not doing too well with the move. It had to sit in an area with no sunlight for a few days. It wasn’t doing too well even before the move. I’m hoping my spiderfarmer grow light can rejuvenate this specimen.

Hydroponic kanna transplant

My kanna plant that I used in my Kanna’s root structure article is doing well!

Hydroponically kanna transplant

As you can see, it is well established and happy after spending a few months in soil! It can be tough for plants to make that transfer, but it seems like it has had no issues.

Hydroponic set up

My Just Kanna Setup. It now has a basil seed starting. I want to see how that effects this grow.
My kanna and basil setup

Both my Aerogardens are doing great. My basil/kanna garden had one of the basil plants die due to over harvesting, so I had to remove the roots. I am glad I removed the roots when I did as it looked like they were going to start decaying. I wanted to avoid any issues with decay both for my plants’ sake and mine as I don’t want to stink up my planting area.

I planted a basil pod in my kanna aerogarden since I want to find out how that effects the nutrients in my gardens. I feel as though it will help my kanna plants clear out excess nutrients.

Hydroponic kanna seedling

Seedling is showing a great amount of growth!

My seedling hasn’t had its characteristic die off, growth, die off cycle in a while. It seems as though it is finally able to sustain its leaves and even starting to branch out a bit. Check out its story here! I’m expecting it to show an immense amount of growth once it grows some more leaves. I’ll keep you updated as that happens!

Kanna cuttings production

My cuttings have done well in the move. They needed a bit of time to recuperate, but they are showing off new growth and some are even Flowering!

My first kanna plant

The first kanna plant that started it all for me. I love this plant so much! It is looking mature and it has grown expansive. It has a trunk! I feel comfortable calling it a trunk as it is so wide and tough looking. I’ll show you what I mean:

Kanna plant’s trunk
The full size of my first kanna.
Most of its branches are tough and stick-like
It still puts out new growth though!

I’m so proud of this plant! I don’t take any cuttings from it and I don’t harvest from it. I have grown too attached to this individual to cut it. Every once in a while it will drop a stem if I move it. I usually eat it. I don’t know why, but that feels more respectful to the plant than trying to plant its unwitting gift.

Waiting for spring

It is too cold where I live to have my plants outside, but I’m hoping that changes in a month or so. I can’t wait to be able to start my outside garden!
